Former King Gyanendra Shah celebrated his 71st birthday amidst a gathering of pro-monarchs at Nirmal Niwas on Friday.
king the birthday, ex-king appealed the fellow countrymen to show their belief towards national unity instead of heading towards disintegration and disputes. He also urged all people and people’s representative to keep the country’s interest at the fore front.
“May our country, made and protected by our ancestors, be protected forever and move towards prosperity,” he says, “This is my prime wish.”
He also wished that all Nepali people, people’s representatives in particular, have the same feeling.
The former King also appealed to Nepali people to explore knowledge of the eastern philosophies and science and utilise them to serve the nation.
Meanwhile, dozens of people loyal to monarchy reached Shah’s residence, Nirmal Niwas, in Maharajgunj today to extend their greetings to the former ruler.
